Welcome to my lettering page! I began my lettering journey a year ago, not long after we moved to the Dominican Republic for the first time.  I discovered “lettering” by happening upon the Instagram feed of the very talented Dawn Nicole.  At some point you should check out her amazing work and lettering tutorials on her blog.  I originally wanted to begin lettering so I could include fancy verses or quotes in our newsletters — God had other plans for my lettering.  This new skill quickly turned into my hobby and an escape when life seemed overwhelming.

Lettering taught my perfectionist self to accept the imperfections as part of the art.  Two letters will never look the same nor should they.  Lettering later became my therapy after losing my baby.  I am so grateful for this art God brought into my life when I needed it most.  Lettering allowed me to slow down, focus on His words, and create beauty in the midst of my pain.  I have put my lettering on many different things around my house (shirts, dish towels, Bible covers, and prints… just to name a few) to give me reasons to smile.  I am thankful for opportunities to share different verses, lyrics, or sayings that have brought me hope.

I still have a lot to learn in my lettering.  I am in no way an expert or an artist, but I am finding joy in this journey.
